My family moved to the Princeton area around 1999, first my brother and his family and then my parents followed them and established roots in this lovely town.
My brother opened up a very successful eatery business across the way from Holder Hall where this image was taken.
This hall was first occupied in 1910. The cloister and west wing were completed in 1913. It is a residential dorm, designed by architects Day & Klauder of Philadelphia in the Collegiate Gothic style. It follows the rest of the gothic campus motif of being constructed of grey stone, Indiana limestone and slate.
In construction, a groin vault is formed by the intersection of multiple barrel vaults. All the groins are covered with ribs as shown here. This vaulted ceiling detail was taken at one of the entryways to the Holder Hall cloisters.
This beautiful monochromatic landscape photograph can be printed in larger sizes on any of our Fine Art papers as well as on high gloss white metal and acrylic.
