This botanical photograph of the “Powder Puff Tree” is focused on one of the many flowering dark red balls that adorn this small tree or rambling shrub with silky leaves. It is a fast growing shrub that can grow tall and also spreads wide. One of its unique features is that the leaves close at night. The red powder puff flowers are attractive to butterflies but only appear from the late Fall to the early Spring. The buds before the flowers bloom resemble raspberries. This species of tree originated in Bolivia.
This photography print has two variations. The color photograph is very attractive. Its red flower against a dark green and black background is a great option if you are looking for red wall art.
In the black and white variation of the same image, the entire background was reduced to black and the highlights of the flower boosted. The very delicate nature of the stamens make the flower appear to be sparkling like a star. It will appeal to those seeking a botanical black and white art print.
Square format art prints are printed in sizes up to 36”x36” but the ideal size is 24”x24” or smaller. The color version would look best as an acrylic art print due to the vibrant nature of the image. The black and white print can be printed on metal or any of our papers.
