This is a silhouette of a couple of the Mesas viewable from the parking lot at the View hotel. It is not as well known as the Mittens or other landmark vista points in Monument Valley but was a very suitable backdrop to the end of this fantastic sunset, one of the best I have ever seen.
Most people wait around for the sunset and head immediately to their cars. I hung around the lot with a handful of other photographers, waiting for the best sunset colors to develop, only visible once the sun had actually dipped below the horizon for a while, the magical “blue hour”.
The skies did not disappoint. This landscape portrait format is one of two fantastic silhouette shots taken that day. This art print can be printed up to size 40”x60” and would look best printed on acrylic or high gloss metal but can be printed on any of our other mediums. For the paper print for this image, we recommend Fujiflex.
