This color portrait format abstract photograph is of two contemporary facades in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York and are both located along the West Side Highway. The image is a beautiful study in blue and illustrates how light and the sky affect glass facades.
The sleek angled planes of the building in the foreground are by Frank Gehry and the building is known as the IAC building. During the day in broad daylight, the glazed planes are made of milky white glass. In the shade in the morning, the glass picks up the blue color of the sky.
The building in the background is the 100 11th Avenue building designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel and is a residential building. It is described as a “vision machine” by its architect. The facade system consists of unitized modules. The stainless steel frames contain 32 different window sizes, with each window angled between 2 degrees and 5 degrees up, down, left, or right.
This art print can be printed in sizes up to30”x40” and can be paired with several other abstract photography prints or can be converted into large scale splits on special demand. It can be printed on any of our mediums but would look best as a meta photography print or acrylic print.
